Tiles of the Unexpected is an addicting tile-breaking puzzle game with 3 challenging levels. Break away two layers of tiles to collect bombs and clear the board.
The game is inspired by the virtual band Gorillaz and their dark, y2k grunge style. It’s sometimes also called Gorillaz: Tiles of the Unexpected.
The objective is to remove groups of two or more identical tiles until the board is empty. The tiles are stacked in two layers. Clicking on a group of two or more tiles that are directly next to each other removes those tiles.
If the bottom layer is cleared, the tiles above will fall down to fill the gap. If the falling tiles create a new combination, they will also be eliminated.
Earning and Using Bombs
By creating these automatic combinations with falling tiles, you earn bombs. The bombs are stored on the left side of the screen. You can use them to blast away the tiles when you run out of moves.
Each tile costs one bomb to remove, and bombs will only be available for use when no clickable combinations are left. Any bombs that are left over at the end of the level, are carried over into the next.
And you really will need those bombs! Three levels doesn’t sound like much, but even getting to level 3 isn’t easy - let alone beating this final level! A new tile design is added to each subsequent round, making matches just that little bit harder to come by than in the previous level.
